Unfortunately this is an impossible question to answer accurately. As with every vehicle out there, the factory builds some a little better then others, then different owners drive differently, maintain differently, etc...
My WJ sees more abuse on the trail then one owned by a laid back old man who only drives on the street and drives like it's Sunday every day, and is meticulous about maintenance. However, it probably sees a lot less abuse then one primarily driven by a young driver who likes to cruise town, get into stoplight battles with whoever he rolls up next to at the red light, and only does maintenance when something goes wrong... So to answer...how long will it last? As long as the average automobile from around the same time.

Jeep's existing Cherokee has already proved a big hit with those who would otherwise look to a Land Rover Discovery or something Japanese. It is nice jeep it will last longer.

Mine is at 243k with the 5.2 V8. Starts right up in the -40 weather here in fargo. The all time AWD sticks to the trail even with bald tires. Even the heated mirrors still work. The only problem it is lacking a little power, maybe a clogged gas filter?

OP. congrats on your WJ, it great rig. To see 150000 Miles on the Odometer is no problem if normal routine maintenance is done.
With your 2001 WJ Grand Cherokee , two common problems come to mind. The fist one you will see if not already is the Door Blend Issue. No this has nothing to do with the color of your doors. If you experience any heating or cooling issues within the cabin air temp no heating or cooling like the controls indicate , then there is a very high chance that you have this issue. My advice now is go to Jeep forum or any other Highly Used Grand Cherokee forum and search for Door Blend. you will see what you are in for. Again, not the end of the world, a Pain in the but yes, but there must be a hundred write up covering what it is and how to address the issue by your self. The other Problem or issue that has Plagued the grand Cherokees with the AWD or full time transfer cases since back in 1993 and on, is a bad all time 4x4 transfer case. First it was the VC or viscous coupling that would fail and cause the Jeep to lock the front and rear axles together as if it were in Part time 4x4. this is bad on pavement due to the available traction on the road binding the front to rear while turning due to the different distance of the path the two axles travel through a turn. Your Jeep, may be ok if it has the Part time 242 case that allows for a 2wd position. if you have only fulltime 4x4 or awd, you then have a 247 transfer case with a very similar PC (progressive Coupler) to that off the ZJ(93-98) 249. the WJ's(99-2004 ish) 247 can also fail like its predecessor the 249 in the zj The couplings are sealed units inside the transfer-case and not serviceable. rather then replace the coupling, 99% just put a different case in due to the fact it is more affordable and a better option. most will put in the 242 part time. a quick test for a bad transfer case, Drive your jeep until it has reached temp. then go to a parking lot and do a figure 8 or a circle. if you can make these tight turns without the jeep binding and hopping with tires chirping, then you have no worries. The CV axles only become an issue if the Transfer case starts to go bad. Worst case scenario, you spend around 300$ bucks and put the part time 242cae in like most of use have. Again , there are a ton of write ups on that swap too! Good luck my fellow Jeeper

Old thread is old.
However: My 98 Grand has 219,9xx on the 4.0 and it runs great. 90k is barely broken in
