yup no more zj. heres the final pics if anyone cares. i saved anothe car fixed it and put it back on the road. its what i do i geuss. im a car slut. 5 sluts a year usallly:P
this thing was missing all light on one side messed up front end. fixed it all , bought another xj and flipped this for a 944 project

all in all i think i did ok for this jeep. the guy i trade loves it so it makes me feel good.

from this mess!!!!

so now i can move on. i really do like the zj's but not a 4.0 when i can have a 5.2l or 5.9 minus that aweful trans and 249 failure. but 242 guts fit a 249:P
so now ill focus on my new xj till im tired of it. likey the porsche will sit with the mustang and 4ws prelude..... not going any place...all keepers

i did it becausei got the xj which is my first 4.0 xj and the zj was slow compared. i didnt see any point keeping it. i didnt want to wheel it. i tired i didnt like it.to hard to see out of. i like projects i usally only keep a car 9 months or so. fix it drive it trade or sell it. my mustang ive had since 06 or 07 is the only car ive had to tab more than once lol!
anyways i got the car home last night off the trailer so it was too dark for pics but ill have plenty up soon.

sorry for making everyone wait so long

i almost got it running today. it has 101k on it. has electrical isues, bad ignition, factor alarm failure and the guy gave up on it. i got everything to power up and crank but no spark.tis is the car with a motor in the front and the trans/axle are in the rear one peice. weight distrubition is almost perfect. 51% fron 49% rear!

Wow, Good Luck with it! I am sure you will get it running. I bet it handle a little better then the ZJ, and maybe a tad faster.

Nice. Gotta buddy with a 89 944 and he said I could have it for 500. All it needs is an oil pump.

jump on it they are valued 5-12k for that year. i got it running i ran sweet and i drove it but the brakes are all hangn up from sitting so long. it ran for about an hour then i parked it and no start, no spark again. ive narrowed it down to a few things dme( bosch motronic ecu) is bad. refference speed sensors or bad wiring.2 times ive had it running. i have power to the coil and ive tried several coils so its not the coil. i need to clean up all the grounds as they all look corroded. the good thing is the ls1 motor can be swapped into these cars. i wont go that far with it since the auto tranny wont last and finding a turbo 5 speed that can handle it will cost alot. i just wanna get it fixed and drive it . it has 101k on the clock so why swap out a low milage motor till it fails. they arent worth replacing the motor on. im thinkn a 4.0 would fit in there. ive seen som weird swaps. the v8s fit but the brake booster is in the way so some people swap audi inline 5s and supra motors in so why not a 4.0

its a 160hp or so motor with about the same torque. a jeep motor would prolly destroy the poor porsche tranny. im starting to think porsche is german for p.o.s. lol it looks nice but it should be in better shape for the milage and all the bosch crap has issues.

ive had it running a few times drove it yesterday. it ran after slapping the ecu lol. so i need a overpriced bosch dme motronic ecu. it makes me really appreciate our bad azz 4.0s they run and run things are simple to fix really the only weak point on any jeep seems to be the trans and on back.i love my 91 xj limited it stays in fulltime 4wd and it handles like nobodys business for a jeep

so ive driven the porsche a few times but i think the ecu finally died so im going to bite the bullet here and get one off ebay or where ever. they run about $200.
