Default Key Fobs quit working

Have a new 2010 Grand Cherokee- Yesterday neither key would remotely open or close the doors, sound the horn or initiate the panic alarm- went to different location in case it was interference- no change. Luckily, the key itself can be taken out of the case if needed to lock the door.

Also noticed a message on dashboard that the IOD fuse out light is on- Is this connected to the problem? The manual doesn't give a location for this fuse or what it's reason for living is etc.e tc.

Have appointment with dealer tomorrow, but seems this is early in the game to have this issue & want to be sure what we should expect from dealership.

Thanks, Judy

Sorry...no idea on the new ones. Please let us know what the dealer has to say about it when they find the problem though.

WJ- Thanks for your reply.
It turned out that the IOD (Ignition Off Draw) fuse being "out" was the reason the remote would not work. This fuse controls this along with radio pre-sets, clocks, etc. that might draw on the battery when the car is idle for 30 days or more. This fuse is disconnected by the manufacturer prior to shipping & the dealer is to seat it upon delivery- Apparently it came loose. The Dealer fixed it, showed us how to do it & other fuse locations & replacements & we were on our way- an annoyance to us, but glad it was nothing
serious..
The owner's manual has nothing regarding this- I'm disappointed in that.
