My 5.9 has a new look. what do you think?
I have Re geared to 4.56 with Aussie Lockers Front and rear. I thought I needed to stuff some bigger tires to help better match the gears. I was at 4" coil lift with adjustable short control arms. I wont be able to go long arm for a Year or two so I decided to do a 1.5 " BB lift on top of my 4" for a total of 5.5" . which allowed me to go from 32"x10.5 to a 33"12.5 Pro comp Xterrain tire. Flexed it out with no rubbing. And I actually Improved my on road ride. Off road is just sick. For the XJ guys. My back Tire looks close to the front of the rear well but does not rub. the tire travels up and back when compressed due to the 4link in the rear v.s leaf spring set up on the XJ.

After

Thats pretty bad ass man. My father in law just picked up a 98 ZJ and we are researching what it's going to take to fit and flex 33's without trimming.
Sweet looking rig dude.

raceing is you and your car against the clock not the other car , in fact there are no people in the stands , no one else is at the track but you and the tree

Thanks guys. I have plenty of flex pics but not with the 33s. I Just put them on Thursday and Went wheeling Friday night in the Rain. Picks were going to come out like crap so this is the only one I have from Friday, It was a Bit muddy out as you see below. I did reconnect my sway bar links for the first time out on 33s . I flexed and had no rubbing. we will see when I go out disconnected.

Thanks guys
Big trip this weekend. I should have some good pictures after. Here is a pic of My sons and one with both. How lucky am I to have a Son that doubles as a wheeling buddy.
Both He and I build ours up from stock form. both locked and on 33's too!
My sons Jeep
Ours.
I believe I will be going with the ARB again. My son has the PROTO FAB. it is a winch bumper and It is well made.
I just personal had good experience with the ARB bull bar winch bumper on my last ZJ and I think it will look better on the 5 Nine.
Opps.
Old pic. bad spot between the trees and through the ICE
Frog Hole
Rausch Creek
Old Flex shot when I had the old 32"x 10.5
One more with my Jeep Dog. Her Name Is Killer.

Thank you
Well My son has the front to rear spring swap lift, which nets like 3.5 " maybe. He fits 33"s but that is only because of the Bushwhackers fender flairs require a lot of fender hacking to install. Now fittings 33s and flex 33s are two different topics. I had the 4 in with 32 and I had good flex with no rub. In order have good flex with 33"s I had to go to 5.5. I added 1.5 in of spacer on top of my already 4 in rough country lift which did have adjustable control arms. I have no rubbing with 33s and good flex. Now there is always going to be One exception. Your front bumper will need a little trim with any larger tire for the most part. that is why so many Lifted ZJ's have no front bumper. They get ripped off on the first trail ride with the new bigger tires.
. However, It is easy to trim and can still look good. I will show a pic of that stock bumper cover trim when I had my 32"s with 4 in. you can see where I trimed. you can get away with a better looking trim job. I just was not to concerned..
 .
It is debated with the ZJ lift when it comes to high HI you can lift before long arms are necessary for ride comfort. I just want to say I still find that the short arm with adjustable CA's is fine at 5.5. I will not be going any bigger with out long arms. Next It will be 7 " long arms and 35s for me
There are many choices as to how to lift your ZJ. I only suggest you researcher and know all the facts. If you need any advice I would be glad to help or at least start you in the right direction. Remember there are many other things to consider before you just throw on 33's. like axles strength . gears , Power. ect.
Any lift over 3.5 will need adjustable control arms. Do not go over a 2.25" Budget boost on the ZJ either.
