Ralph, go look through my build thread. I have a similar brushguard that I have rebuilt at least once and its a pretty simple mount. Mine isn't perfect either, but I have no towhook issues, and Im not real sure how you do. A couple little cuts to the plastic should clear anything up.

Found the pictures in your thread. Looks like your brush guard mounts differently. Mine mounts directly to the brackets used for factory tow hooks. yours has a bracket off the brush guard that mounts somewhere underneath that I can't see in the pictures. See the part I circled in your picture. Well the metal strip under the rubber extends farther down underneath on mine. Interferes with the tow hook. Again I am trying to use the factory ones. When I installed the factory tow hooks the bumper caps did have to be trimmed some. With the brush guard they will need to be trimmed a little more. But to run the tow hooks some of that metal under the rubber strip will have to be trimmed.

There are two mounting holes for tow hooks on the side of the brush guard. But farther up the side then yours. Could use the the tow hooks like you run there. Shallow ones. Notice how yours don't stand as tall as the factory ones.

I believe my brush guard to be a Manik but not sure.
What brand is yours?

Finally got around to swapping out my power steering fluid.
Decided to do it as part of my April maintenance every year.
I just drain the reservoir.
For the 10 ounces of fluid it takes and just the simple fact that I can I figure why not. LOL.
Now what to do next?

So I tried something that did not work out today. Awhile back while cruising internet land I came across this:

https://www.amazon.com/WVE-NTK-1P204...iglink20919-20

Looking at it I kept on thinking that those connectors look just like what is on my coil bar and harness to the coil bar. So I grabbed one from RockAuto for about $12 last year. Was ordering a few other things and threw it into the cart.

Well yesterday I was reading this build thread:

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/20...driver-251924/

He was doing the Viper coil mod. Start around Post #11. Well K Suspension came up with this:

https://www.ksuspensionfab.com/store...__Harness.html

00xjfreedom bought it. It is a cool plug and play set up. I always considered this mod. But not really cause the coil bar bothers me but because I wish there was just a little more slack on the wire at the firewall at the end of the coil bar. Just to be able to move it around a little more. Plus I really did not want to cobble stuff together to do the mod. Hence the little harness. But cause of this new set up I am thinking maybe. I talked to a guy there yesterday. Set up has been out for about a month.

Well it got me thinking about that little short harness. So I tried it today. Well after I took the coil bar I compared the end of the coil bar with the identical end on the harness. The first thing I noticed was that the prongs were shorter. Thinking this is not good I tried anyway.

No joy. Bad idea. Bad Ralph. Jeep just sputtered trying to start, kind of backfired once, and was sounding all types of crazy. My guess is that the prongs are not long enough and were not making a proper connection. I put the Jeep back together and it was business as usually.
There is a chance I could not have been connected properly but I double checked and not wanting to push my luck bailed on the idea.

The first shot is the end in question.

Oh well I tried.

Replaced the axle shaft seals on the Dana 30. I was starting to leave a small spot of gear oil on the work parking lot every shift. Also knocked out the tire rotation at the same time. Then hung some Jeep propaganda up in the garage. Got a laundry list of stuff on the VSTROM that needs to be knocked out hopefully this week and I really need to get back in business on that GS850G.

End of an Era. Teenager hit me. Insurance says it is total loss. I am waiting to see what they are going to offer me.

Got me thinking now I should probably do my axle seals too while I’m cleaning it all up.
Nice artwork!

Thanks guys. I am Okay just very disappointed. I think the Kid said he got his drivers license a week ago and his car 3 days before he hit me. He said he was looking down and did not see me. I think he was on his phone. He said he wasn't but why else would you be looking down. He only had very minor damage to his front end. Hardly even noticeable. He bent my two doors and the rocker panel. Insurance is suppose to call today. Adjuster came by and looked at it. Luckily I bought most of my aftermarket parts online so I had receipts.

Poor kid, bet he was pretty flustered.
My buddy’s son totaled his Toyota right after getting his license, kid was all proud taking it to the car wash ... forgot to put it in park
