^ X2

you can go back and copy then paste all of your posts into a build thread. It will just take some time to get it done.

^ agreed! Much respect on your work mate, lots of folks wish they had the vision, follow through, and detail that your work exemplifies, and they deserves its own home in a thread. This thread has historically been more about one-liners updates and it’s harder to keep track here.

Picked up these for $200. Now I have 8” wheels for when I finally get some 12.5 wide tires.

Only thing is they are like 5 5/8” backspacing.
My others are 3.75”.
Guess I’ll have to get some spacers.
Anyone got any 1.5” spacers for sale?

For how easy it would be to get your money back out of those rims, I'd rather sell 'em for a profit and to keep from having to deal with spacers.

I reset the driver's side window glass back on the track. It isn't a whole lot but it's better than looking at the pile of parts for the axle swap while I wait on funding to get everything in house before I start.

Replaced all the steering linkage plus a Monroe steering damper that had less than 15k miles on it but was leaking all over and had a dead spot, used a Drag link from a 30,000 mile TJ but the guy who gave me the linkage bashed the still good TREs out with a hammer so the threads were all mushroomed and deformed on the tie rod.

So since I needed the rod ends same day and NAPA was closed I bit the bullet and went to Autozone which had one Duralast Gold TRE but not the other side so I went to Orileys and got their only avaliable one for the other side which was their house brand. We'll see how long they last. The steering damper I had picked up already before starting the job and just grabbed it from Napa.

Nice- I’m doing new TREs on the WJ too because steering that thing was like walking a drunk to bed

Found a 87. Owner says it has high pinion axles. What are those. Is that something I should stay away from. Manual transmission.

'87-99' all have a high pinion front Dana 30. It's the low pinion Dana 30 on the 00' and 01', and the ZJ's that you don't want. Low pinion complicates driveline angles when lifting.Name: hp vs lp dana 30_1562158697146.jpg

All Grand Cherokee's 93-04 are low pinion dana 30s I believe. High pinion is also slightly stronger....

High pinions are highly sought after. Better ground clearance, better driveline angles and stronger gears.

It could be a holy grail, with 4.10 gears and a Dana 44 rear.

WJ motor mounts. What a pain. That upper rear bolt on passenger side was torture.

So of course it is 80 degrees and probably going to get into the low 90's so what do I decide to do?
Play with some heated seats I bought yesterday of course.

So about $150, tough to know how to break it down cause I paid $250 for 4 Agate fake woodgrain trim door panels and the matching bezel,
and the Agate leather seats, fronts and back, with the power seat bases for both sides, wiring harness, and the heated seat switches with the
bezel that goes where the ashtray goes. Think I overpaid but I really wanted all this stuff. I am determined to get factory heated seats in the Jeep.
So the driver's side was taped up pretty good. I pulled off the tape on that one panel, see where I pulled up the leather, cause that is a part that heats.
But the rest of the seat is in pretty good shape and believe it or not the heaters work on that seat.

The passenger side is in really good shape but the heater doesn't work. Go figure.
Anyway checking with my meter for continuity I found it was the bottom.
Opened her up and found the burn mark.

So I fixed the break, checked with the meter again and all is good.

So the thing is my interior is Camel. But I use those black CoverKing Seat covers so.......
Not how it came from the factory but going to have to do. At least for the moment.
Now I need to remove my ashtray so I can put the switches there.
Seats need to be cleaned up. Covers put on and then both seats put on the existing power seat bases.
Cause I refreshed those up awhile ago.

So since I have extra plastic seat trim in Agate which way do you guys think I should go with this?
Now remember the Camel interior is two tone.
