i come here and lurk allot. i dont say allot unless i see where i can help someone. most of the time when people ask a question someone is already helping them
i am on several cherokee pages on fb. i will help allot there too.
i get a little aggravated sometimes cause people will ask some very simple questions and others will go off. what people dont realize is what is very simple to me may be almost impossible to others.

funny one was a guy who took a fan belt back three times cause he said it would not fit. no one was getting anywhere with the guy. so i took a picture from the manual and posted it for him.
the guy came back about 30 minutes saying he was sorry but he was doing it in a way that was hilarious.

it was funny but at the same time i was commenting at how easy it is for every single one of us to get confused or distracted. sometimes being over confident can cause a person to fail too. my wife had a 06 liberty. you can actually put the belt on two different ways. i did not look cause i thought i was to smart to not have to. sure enough i put it on wrong. did not cause any damage. she drove it for a week complaining about a small noise. when i went back and looked i realized what i had done.

driving a nail with a hammer is one of the easiest basic things anyone could do.
one hammer one nail. how simple is that. but i have spent a lot of my live walking around with a black fingernail

Whatís that saying; when your only tool is a hammer every job looks like a nail? Or something like that?

Itís a shame the FB groups have lessened the importance of forums like this one. I lurk on tXJ Support Group on FB too but itís mostly chaos. Havenít found the same kind of extended family and entrenched knowledge thatís Here, ya know?

I agree. I get allot of information but I also love helping people.
If I have a tough time with a repair. Then if I can save some one some trouble. I will help them

I belong to a bunch of groups on facebook. ClubXJ is just full of "tools" And I don't mean Snap-on. CherokeeForum is about the same way. Hanging out here is my favorite!

Homemade transmission bracket. The transmission bracket that I purchased from eBay was for an ax15. However it did not bolt up. So I just made it work.
I could have moved the cross member closer but I left it in he same place because of the muffler brace

So far these are the only two modifications on my auto to manual swap
The bracket that bolts to the transfer case for the auto is different that the the manual
This is the linkage for the transfer case.
So I bought one off of eBay that a guy said he pulled from an ax15.
The bracket was a little short so I relocated the holes in the piece that bolted to the floor
Seems to shift ok.
Need to do a little more to it but for now it works

Thereís a centered and an offset version of the trans mount. I made the same mistake once and purchased the centered mount. This time I made sure I got the offset.

Also the boostwerks or Azzyís transfer case linkage kits eliminates that goofy stock linkage. I got the boostwerks only $50.

That is interesting. I wonder if the off set mount bracket would match up to my cross member brace?

Reason I ask is I had to eye ball where to center my transmission it would move back and forth

do you remember where you purchased your transmission bracket?

i new something was wrong when it came in and it only had two bolt holes in the bracket and my transmission has 4.

the guy i purchased the transmission from said it came out of his 89 wrangler.
i also read that it would clock the t case 10 degrees.
i just bolted the t case up and it is not hitting the floor so honestly i do not know.
