FWIW, my take on parafin; Yes, it is wax. And is refined from crude oil. Quaker state ruined a bunch of engines like 50 years ago when they eliminated a filtering step in the manufacturing process. This step removed large wax particles from the oil but since this was done in the summer, the particles would melt and pass through the filters and into the oil. Well, once this oil was produced and canned it would be shipped to suppliers. The oil would be used in engines in colder climates, and during winter, the large particles would solidify and clump up and plug oil filters. Which in turn ruined engines. That's the story I heard.......

And what Valvoline has to say. Myths about motor oil

We've used Wolf's Head for years. Haven't had a single oil-related issue.

New motor From Titan they recommended Rotella oil. Guess that's what I am going to use.
There are a few links to oil filters in this thread. I started using the pureolator one filters.

The Rotella stuff is very good.

High mileage 4-liters Iíve taken to running Delvac diesel stuff. They seem to like it.

Filter wise: still Wix. Except on the 9er, that gets Mopar 1090s since thatís all that fits.

OEM Mopar. Theyre 8 bucks. Not like theyre breaking the bank. Same price at my walmart as the dealer so i typically pick them up from the dealer.
