Default Weird rumbling noise

Ok, So, lately I have noticed a strange rumbling from what I believe to be the front of my 96 XJ. It's very hard to notice at times. Since I just redid my gears last year, I thought maybe I did something wrong. Pulled the front cover and since I had to do my ball joints I also took out my axles. And since my axles were out, I pulled my carrier to give it and the bearings a good once over. Bearings and races looked fine. no pits or weird patterns. Also have an auto locker and it looked fine. Checked the pinion bearings and they were tight.
I did have a caliper that was stuck on the passenger side, replaced it with a NAPA one. I still smell hot brakes, so that may not have been my problem.
Anyhow, I am wondering if it could be either the chain in the t-case or the front drive shaft.

BTW, I have braided front brake lines. I hit a hole pretty good a couple months ago, Bounced high enough to pull my front shock through the tower, so I am wondering if I may have stretched the brake line, prevent the fluid from returning.

Any thoughts?

You could have a restriction, however before you pull any triggers why don't you check your unit bearings. When they go, they can make that rumbling sound

Unit bearing is new.

Pulled the drive shaft off. Double cardan is bad. Ordered a rebuild kit. Noise sounds like it's gone with the driveshaft off. gonna run it a couple days and see.

That was my guess. Mine gets quieter with the front driveshaft out. Always has.

I ordered a rebuild kit from Oliver's driveshafts. Only took a couple days to come in. Been sick this week and I was totally bummed when I open the box and they didn't include rubber boot/seal for the centering ball. Which I added to my order since its not included. really wasn't in the mood to argue, butt they agreed to send another one. Doubt I get it before Sunday, was planning on doing some much needed dirt therapy. #sigh.

Didnt get the seal until Monday. Had family things to take care of sunday so I couldn't have gone wheeling anyhow.

Sound was pretty much gone without the driveshaft. I did get it reassembled yesterday. And yeah double cardan's suck. had it apart multiple times before everything was finally seated properly. took it for a quick ride about 8 last night, sounded good gonna take it to work today and hope for the best.

BTW, I don't do burnouts. 3 rear ends and 2 trannys taught me that a long time ago! But dirt lot doughnuts may be an option.
