Possible...well anything is possible with the right amount of money. I would assume that to be more of a headache than its worth. What's wrong with a Hemi conversion ? That would seem world's easier and minimal bugs to work out computer wise. Just my 2 cents.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but can't a carbed 350 run without an ECU? I was thinking it might be a little easier then a 5.7 swap if that's the case. And another reason is I want a "one of a kind" WK. And I'm open to any enigine besides the 5.7 HEMI. I want to try something that nobody really does. I also have big plans for the jeep after an engine swap

Personally I think this would be a step backwards. You would have to swap out the tranny too, no adaptors for that and either adapt the tranny to the tcase or replace that too. ABS and traction controls would be gone too, and the body modules would not work either.

I'm willing to lose ABS and traction control along with everything else the ECU controls . And I was planning on doing a tranny swap too. Only thing is are there any automatic transmissions that will bolt up to a 350 that doesn't use a computer system? I've been reading about some hydraulic automatic trannys but I have no clue how they work. I'm making it into a trail rig the less electronics the better.

Yes, there are three. The turbo 350 and 450 are three speeds, completely mechanically controlled. You will need the kickdown rod to make them work properly. The 700R4 is a 4 speed with overdrive that can be controlled with an inexpensive stand alone electronic controller for the lockup. but with this stuff, you will loose all dash functions

I did expect to here that I'd lose dash functions. That's why I was thinking about installing all new gauges (speedometer, RPM gauge, voltage reader, ect) but only one I think I'd have a real problem is a gas gauge.

You can get an aftermarket gauge to work

That was my next question. Because right now I have an AWD system that I'm almost positive won't work. So my next question is what would be a good 4x4 system I could put in. Remember I'm trying to stay away from electronics. And also an axle swap to handle the power. What would be some good axles to look at? Thanks guys for all the advice too!

XJ axles won't work. Your axle width is about 6" wider. Best rear axle would be the D44A if it doesn't already have it. It would bolt. Not sure on the front, but the WJ D30 should work fine.

I think the route best taken would be to strip everything from the wk to an empty shell. Buy a pick up with a good drive train and yank the body and bed. Have the frame PROFESSIONALLY WELDED to fit the wk wheel base and mount the wk body on the frame .

You are talking a heck of a project, can you fabricate? Because there are not any motor mounts or adaptors for the things you have suggested doing
