Well, a zj one came off a zj. Just kidding. the zj and the xj had basically the same tank, but for some reason the 97+ xjs rarely came with a skid. the one for the zj works great for the xjs with the plastic tank, and you only have to drill out a couple holes where it bolts to the nutstrip.

best of all, you can go to most pick and pulls and find one for a zj that will do just what you want for under $20. Save yourself $140. I used to make gas tank skids for myself and others and thats what i charged. I found these, and they are lighter, cheaper, and work just as good and stopped making them.

Nice XJ man. Wish mine was as "stock" as yours. :D
for the right amount of hate and discontent from the wife, yours can be as stock as you want it.

oooh yay! Then i've already begun! :p
the sad thing is i want to spend even more money on the darn thing. I would really like a tera low 4to1, a 2low kit, some dom wraped around it, and some cromo axle shafts (or just take the current drive train out and start over with 1tons on a frame)

X2, but why not just build up the current unibody instead of going with a frame? I have seen some horid frame hackjobs.

cause if i went with a frame, it would not have a body. It would by like an s10 frame, put my motor, trans, transfer case, and any other goodies on it, and wrap it in dom. It was just a thought, and pretty much a last ditch effort to not start over if something does happen to this jeep..

lets face it, if i dont get some dom soon, im not going to have enough skins to wrap anyway. I did not wheel near as much as i wanted this year due to the gas prices, but if they stay down, i will be killing parts next summer.

Same for me, gas killed my wheeling this year. I hope for it to be better next year. Either way im looking forward to seeing what you are going to do with it.
