Hi, first post so i hope i am in the right place. I am looking to replace the BCM on my 98 zj. I have no low beam lights, no high wipers, and my dash lights flicker on and off fairly often. From what ive read this seems the be the cause of my issues. My question is can i use the BCM and ECM from a 1995 ZJ on a '98? I'd rather not have to have a replacment programmed since i don't know how to go about it. I believe i have security since the fob has an alarm function but i could be mistaken, i think the '95 was the same. Any help is appreciated
You're gonna have to pull it to get the part number off of it. It is located behind the driver's side knee/kick panel. It is facing the firewall and fastened to the backside of the metal support frame for the dash.

I have about five or six spares. I believe one or two of them are out of a 96/97(diff. part numbers). If you get it pulled I can sell you one at a reasonable price, but buyer beware. I have not tested them. They came straight out of the junk yard and into a spare parts bin. You might find them on ebay, but be very sure they're what you need; most people won't give any sort of returns. I've tried before myself.

Be sure it is the body control module. It could be a bad grounding location. Most of those described circuits terminate at the passenger side fender under the hood. Clean up the grounding location on the passenger side fender walll, just behind the battery and in front of the relay control / power distribution center. Unbolt them from the fender wall and make sure the metal is shiny and grey/metal colored. Then reattach. Try out the circuits...

Good luck!

I'll check out that grounding location, if that doesn't work i'll pull the BCM and get the part number. The vehicle doesn't beeb when you hit the fob twice. I forgot to mention i also have a drain on the battery as it can't sit for more than a couple days. Thanks for the advice, i'll report back when I give it a shot
Yeah the parasitic drain is a dead give away, but I've been dealing with it for about ten years now and I don't have the other symptoms your 98 is having.
