I believe I was just ripped by the dealership. They charged $800 for an alternator for my 2014 grand Cherokee Overland - parts price. And $330 for the battery. Was I?

You can get a lot of alternator for that money. In fact, I could buy three for mine. But checking Amazon, looks like you could have bought three for that price. As far as a battery goes, a good AGM battery can cost every bit of that

A new bosch goes for 460 at advance auto. This assuming you have the hemi engine. So 800 at the dealer doesn't sound outrageous as far as dealer prices go. And 300 for the battery sounds about right too. like I said as far as dealer prices go. You may be able to get a little better price from another dealer.
