Hi Guys, i have a Jeep cherokee xj 2000 2.5 bensin. Its fuel economy is very bad. I need your advise if i need to change parts to make it bit better.

How long since your O2 sensors have been replaced?.... I'd start there with quality replacement parts that are oem equivalent.

I replaced O2 sensors in December 2021

The O2 sensors are the first thing to check. This is a gas motor right? Not the diesel? Are you getting any black smoke out the tail pipe? Is the tail pipe real sooty inside?

I have Xj 2000 2.5i bensin motor, there is no black smoke from tail pipe but exhasut system is very old n rusty.

It is the inside of the tailpipe I was interested in. Even though you replaced the O2 sensor recently, it is the go to sensor for fuel efficiency. Has anyone sniffed the tail pipe recently to check for hydrocarbons?
