Well as the title says Im thinking about getting into a new mountain bike. My current bike is a specialized that I have had since I can remember. Looking for a mountain bike that wont mind commuting a bit.

Any avid bikers out there willing to lend some advice?

Yes I noticed :D

Would I be significantly deterred if I had a full suspension bike riding on road for any sizable distance?
well the stumpjumper has a "hardtail" and "hardfork" option meaning..that if you are in flar/on road where you need suspension...you just change it...is just a finger move....like shifting the gears but on the shock kind of on the fly...and it goes rigid...no shock movement at all for better on road speed ...u also get less tired...

im guessing you saw how much it was...

dude specialized is expensive...and the shocks has nothing to do with the bike...

find something cheaper with that option.... giant, haro, trek, fuji, cannondale

or find a used

specialized epic

best bike ever..it has a brain!!!
