I just done my 4.0l that the head was cracked. Just words of advice:
If you do it yourself if at all possible pull the motor this will make the exuast and intake ALOT EASIER. If you cant pull the motor take out your grille and rad to get to the exuast and intake. If you do not do that have a friend with a really small arm unbolt the exuast and intake.

Mine was fairly easy to swap out for a new one but the exuast and intake is a pain when you have a fat arm and don't pull the grille or pulle the rad. My .02

Umm you can get new heads for around $200...The 2000 models came with the 0331 head...Check the link below they sell them new remans for $175 plus shipping and core of $115. You can replace the head yourself or have a mechanic swap em out. Doing it yourself isn't bad and you do not need to remove the motor to do this. Just a pain getting the intake manifold and exhaust manifold off. Anyways if it was me I would order a remanufactured head and then either do it myself or pay a shop. If you do it yourself get an engine hoist to aid in lifting the head cause it's one heavy sucker. Figure the head less then $200 plus shipping and probably 3-4 hrs worth of ship labor..

Also check local junk yards for a good head.

Link below is a company I got my engine from and they do good work.
