Ok my son nailed a curb and broke his rotor caliper and rear end is damaged. We have a 2002 jeep grand Cherokee Larado with a dana 35 3.73 gear. We found a fully intact 2000 jeep grand cherokee rear end dana 44 with 3.73 gears. Ive read they are fully interhchangable on some sites ad other say you just have to have the 44 drive shaft and they interchange and another said the Yoke and shaft will have to be a custom weld and another says they are different bolt patterns in mounting. Can anyone give me some guidance on this.

I think I just responded to him. But yes, the axle will bolt in. Generally speaking, the U joint for a D44 is a 1330 and the D35 is a 1310. But not to worry. There are adapter U joints to go from 1330 to 1310 available at places like NAPA
