I thought it would be cool to see how many folks on CT worked out and or exercised. I've been on a health kick since December 31, and wanted to see if other people were on some kind of exercise regimen. I was very overweight, and finally pulled my head out and did something about it. As of December 31st, I weighed over 350 lbs!! I'm not sure exactly, our scales didn't go that high!! It was horrible, and I felt even worse. Since then I've lost 117 lbs., and feel much better, both mentally and physically!! I ride a mountain bike at least 45 miles a week, sometimes more, as well as some dumb bell work at home, and the Perfect Push-up things...they work!! I also try to get out and play basketball and racquetball with some friends from work once a week or so. I don't have a goal weight in mind, I just want to be healthy. I also incorporated a healthier eating life style into this plan. Initially I cut down to 1200 calories a day...yeah it sucked!!! Now that I'm exercising, I take in around 2500 calories a day. I'm still losing around 2 pounds per week, so it seems to be working. Anyone else??

I am an on-off bodybuilder. When i graduated in highschool, i weighed 155 lbs. Kinda underweight for a 6'1" dude. I loved playing hoops and was finding myself getting beat up quite a bit with the new found physical style of play that was gaining popularity back then. After my first year of playing recreational in college, I realized I needed to get stronger to beat the bigger college dudes. So i took up bodybuilding. I put on 34 lbs over the summer vacation with only 8% body fat. When i returned in the fall, no one recognized me. I walked right past my roommate and he didn't even notice it was me. :) And the attention from girls......

I was told people think i used steriods or something to get big that fast but what they didn't know was i spent 4 hours at the gym every day, working one body part a day, for the entire summer. I ate 8 meals a day, every 2 hours. My buddy rich was my competitive partner. He also went from 135 to 179 (now) and looks like Vin Diesel....seriously. The commitment we put into the workouts was intensive. We thought nothing but LIFTING all summer long, every day, all day. Eat lift, sleep, eat, lift, sleep. i also played hoops every other day after the workouts.

I continued on lifting for the next three years and hit 203 lbs at 9% body fat and then i outgrew all my clothes (going form medium size to XL. I injured my shoulder that year (permanent cartilage injury) and had to take time away from lifting. Ever since then i've been lifting on and off for a few months. I can gain weight instantly, up to 3 lbs a week. My eating regimen and workout plan took some years to develope but it works wonders with my body.

10 years later, i am at 190 lbs (two months ago). Right now i'm hovering around 179 (dieting). Not doing any lifting at this time due to a wrist injury.

Gotta love the look at the dr's face everytime she weighs me. She always says "chris, you are 10 lbs over/under your previous visit weight...".

I used to be very active - Hiking, Rock Climbing, and hockey. I also did Taekwondo, Karate, and Judo off and on for about 30 years. I hold high belts in each. I was also an avid mountain biker - we did it before it was cool

A few years back I destroyed my left knee training for a Taekwondo tournament and since then I can't do any more strenuous activities. Total life-changer for me.

I still train, but now it's for 1 legged, close quarters defense and short weapons :D. I am without an ACL in my left knee, and nothing left to repair - it's just gone. I get around well enough, but gone are the studly days - now I'm really overweight :brickwall:

I have been body-building for the past three months. I started out at about 130lbs and i'm up to 155lbs. I took a break for the past two weeks because I was on a wheeling trip :).

I used to wrestle back in high school. And I would work out 6 days a week and practice 6 days a week. I lived and breathed wrestling. got into a car crash my senior year and ruined it all. I cant work out anymore. My back cant support anything heavy. When wrestling I weighed 100-105 Now I weigh 135 but dont look much different. I miss that sport. In high school it was the only legal was to beat the crap put of someone and get away with it. But after awhile it became more than that to me. Its NOT a sport, its a lifestyle.

Those days are long gone for me!!
Dude congrats on that transformation. That's totally cool. I love seeing results like that. I trained three fellows over the years and they got similar results as you did and it just great how you guys commit and make such amazing progress.

Good job!
