I'm starting to order parts for my new RC build that i'm working on. I found this cool wrangler body on ebay for $10. It's just the plastic body that's 1:6 size, about 25" longer, 15" high. Seller has it listed for $10 buy it now but $30 shipping. I've checked around ebay for others similar to this and found their shipping is 1/2 of what this guy is listing his for, and these other ones are full vehicles (frame/tires/everything included, not just the plastic body). I contacted this seller and it seems he's covering the cost of the vehicle in the shipping so he can lower the buy it now price to $10. I showed him another auction of the same rig that's $30 buy it now and $17 shipping (that's for the complete body/chassis/tires/controller/etc) and he replies saying "$30+$17= $47 and mine is $10+30 = $40." He's saying his price is much lower but shipping is twice as high to cover that. Is that right? I think it's wrong to lie about actual shipping costs like that. What do you think?

Its just how ebay is, seems wrong but it is what it is.
It's allowed?

I sent a box similar in size that was 29 lbs and it costs me $29.50. This body weighs like .5 lbs or so. Just doesn't make any sense.

and i really want that body :(

I dont think there is anything within ebay preventing it. If the buyer enters a contract and agrees (by buying the product) to the sellers price then its fine. If he gets nobody to buy it then obviously he needs to lower his total price. IMO these sorts of things are why I do not go through ebay anymore.

I've looked for things like lift kits, or bushwhackers. I find a cheaper price but after looking at the shipping and handling, it back up to the price of everyone else. So it is just a gimmick. They just padding what they will be paid. They are hoping for people, like you, that just HAVE to HAVE it and will pay the outrageous shipping and handling charges.

Ebay

What it is ...... When you sell something on ebay you have to pay a percentage of what it sells for, not what it costs to ship it. people are just trying to get as much as they can for the item and not have to pay ebay.:brickwall: Good for them, Sucks for us! Just figure up what the bid + shipping is and if you are willing to pay that then its a good deal to you. If you can get it cheaper somewhere else then thats what I would do!
