lately when I'm driving my temp gauge will go from just under 210 to just over 110 and eventually back to 210 and this is after my engine has warmed up and I'm currently driving. this can happen a few times in a trip of an hour or more. it sometimes happens when I make a turn. has anyone experience this?

Check the thermo sensor wires for corosion carefully. This can definately cause the problem. A good fix is fill a cup of CLR and lay the connector in it for an hour then rinse it off or use an air hose if possible. It will take off any corrosion and see what happens.
