Hey guys, thanks for your positive comments on my XJ but it is not pristine ...however, I plan to make her that way....or as close as I can.

Funny thing. I was at a family get together this weekend. My nephew told me recently when he had the XJ for a bit and drove it to a friends house. The friends dad offered him two vehicles to trade for my XJ. He went crazy over it. A Ford Ranger and some VW car, didn't say what kind. He told him it wasn't his and couldn't. It would take a lot more that that to get me to give up my XJ. Also my nephew wants me to lift it and do all the things that some guys do to theirs and I said no, not gonna do it. If I can get it to where I want it, it will be worth way more than if I build it. Besides, I just love it the way it is, stock. If I ever sell it someone else can do all the stuff to it.

Sometimes I think that's the best kind of car guy. The one who really truly loves a vehicle the way it is straight from the factory. He appreciates it for what it is, and has no desire to change it. Its pure. Do I/we love the way our modified ones work now? Absolutely. But to enjoy a vehicle in stock form with no changes is sincere love for it the way the manufacturer intended.

I appreciate your comment. I have a WK. It has just about every comfort a vehicle can have and most people usually come to expect from what was once a very expensive vehicle.

The XJ is a pure vehicle. Sure, the Country version and many of the other attempts by Jeep to dress up the XJ over the years, the Wagoneer, Brierwood and Limited, still could not disguise that driving it is like driving a log wagon. The ergos suck, even when it was new the electrics were a decade old, lousy leg room in the rear seat as well as really poor cushions. Even when it was new it was ten years behind the motor vehicle industry. The list could go on. I prefer to drive it over my WK Limited. I really feel like a snob when I pull up at a stop light next all the newer attempts at copying the XJ. I always think they just might be a little envious of my XJ.

Also, I do envy some of the work, money and blood sweat and tears people put into making their rig the way they want it. That is a dedication to a hobby that really shows. I love my stocker but I can also appreciate all the great XJ's that people here create.
