I just purchased a Magellan Maestro 4350 for my Jeep. Does anyone in PA know if its legal to mount it on the windshield? I can'tfind anything on the state motor vehicle page. Any help would be appriciated.

Rules governing this type of application are quite vague.
BUT, good rule of thumb: Mount LOW as not to obstruct the driver's view.

Besides, I havent heard of anyone getting pulled over for something like this.
Usually, you'd get pulled over for some other violation and the officer will make mention of it...if he/she cares.

And the addition of GPS and other aftermarket items like HD/Satellite radio systems has become more widespread in the last few years, I believe no-one really notices them any more.

FINALLY found the answer! In Pa you can't have anything that obstructs the view. You all made good points fellas Thanks again for your input.

The state inspection is kinda rough too.

One of my last vehicles had a 4" tach mounted to the dash. The only thing it obstructed was the flasher on my passenger's front fender.
BUT the inspection mechanic was short as opposed to me. He could barely see over the wheel. FAILed because of the tach.
P/O'ed me so much after all the grief he gave me that right in front of him I pulled out my pocket knife, cut the wires and literally ripped it off the dash.

He gave me a blank stare and said it passed.:devil:
