....a couple days after buying it.

I can remember those couple days when i had to endure such overwhelming amounts of SHINE. It started screwing with me mentally so i went to the local splash hole and got it a nice dirty coat of wet mud.

It's come a long way since then....and still no off road miles under it's belt.

Hey muds not all it's cracked up to. Nice clean looking XJ you got there.. I'd take a off camber rutted out trail before a mud hole myself..
:agree: Every time I go in deep mud with my XJ I end up replacing a uni-bearing a week later. I avoid mud bogging like black death.

I'll take a good, technical, rocky trail any day.

Don't misunderstand guys. I LOVE mud to the point where i actually ate it once or twice. I just haven't had the time to take it out yet and it hasn't been ready for it's maiden voyage. I still need a gas tank skid and tow points/winch. My buddy who i usually wheel with has a YJ that rusted up last winter and has to replace the body or just get a new jeep so i'm waiting for him to partner up and go out again.

This should make you feel better:

That's the only time it touched mud, when i had to get rid of the super-shine. Technically it wasn't off road, just a muddy driveway behind a closed building.

How many times did you need to change the hub assy's on that TJ?
4 times on each side. :D not to mention pinion seals twice, tranny seal, tcase output seal, rear outter seals, dana 30 inner seals, countless u-joints, and two cv assemblies and one steering box. I love mud

This is the disaster that started most leaks:

Not too bad..till its started raining....

Got water in every mechanical component. Not just water, but coal/water/sand/mud water. The stuff that chews up vital components and seals. The dealer had to flush it 3 times to get it clean enough. I had pieces of coal in the t-case, tranny, and both axles. hehehehe. Two jeeps could not pull me out, simultaneously. We had to dig....and dig....and dig. Funny thing is i drove it 200 miles home, like that. I didn't notice a thing till next day....
