Looks like you need to take that welder and crank it all the way to 11 bud, a couple of those look a little cold. I should know, Im an expert in making unperfect welds lol. Youre still making good progress!

Yeah, I know. I'm second best at crappy welds. Tis a fine line one must tread while trying to weld 3/16 to body metal. I have gotten a lot better with this welder. 3.5 on voltage and 4.5 on wire feed works a treat on the the rear stiffeners, they are only 10 gauge.

Salt is an absolute killer. It plane sucks. My rock sliders took the place of my rockers. Everything was solid when I welded them in a few years ago. It doesn't take long. I'm spraying everything with cavity coater, in hopes of slowing it down considerably, the rust that is. Time will tell.

I filled my slider with rustolium paint used 3 gallons to fill it. Then drilled holes and drained it 2 days later.

Umm. okay. Are you planning on using them for auxillary fuel tanks? Those things will never rust.

Did it take 3 gallons to fill each one, or was that between the 2?

It took 2 and some change for 1 then recovered the remainder when I drained it. Plan on useing what is left for the other side when I finish it

Step 1: Build an exocage.
Step 2: drill hole and pour POR into slider.
Step 3: plug hole.
Step 4: roll jeep down a hill sideways
Step 5: drain excess POR and dispose of properly.
