well i have a mopar performance high volume oil pump sitting in the box since last xmas.. has anyone used these before and once im in their dont i have to "prime" the oil pump...i need any help i cant afford a new engine again:confused:

yes you have to prim the oil pump!!!!!! take a piece of round stock and grind down two sides making a straight I shape at the end well not an I but a straight line lol to match your distributor and put that into a drill and prime er.

Definitely prime it.
DON'T disconnect the coil wire and turn it til you get pressure. NO NO, NEVER NEVER...

Word to the wise, When you first put it in, keep on top of your oil level, many hi-vol pumps could actually suck the pan dry before whats pumped drains back into the pan, so you have may have to add more oil to compensate. I've always chose pumps based on what the engine is doing, and what it will be doing (RPM range, Constant RPM range, etc.).
