Heater help

Ive been working on my heater this evening and have found that Im not getting flow to the heater core at all time.I chaged out the radiator last week to a open loop radiator but now no flow .What do I need to do to get water to flow threw the heater core.

Rad sould have nothing to do with heater core. Make sure your heater core aint stop up or it could be themostat is running to cool. My .02

:agree: Let her come up to operating temp and then try the heater again. Also, if you did a flush before, you might have flogged your heater core.

Last but not least... What do you mean by a open loop radiator? More importantly, why?
Open loop rad = open system rad = later style rad = coolant has an 'overflow' bottle that is not pressurized and a regular rad cap.

Why people change them is beyond me.

And it sounds like it vapour-locked the heater core hose or something - which to me shouldn't happen. But try bleeding the cooling system. That or you wrecked your heater control valve thinger (shuts off flow of coolant to heater core when heater is off, yadda yadda).

The reason I changed the radiator was the closed loop blew the side out of it . I had the other radiator laying aroung and it was free didn't want to spend money on something that I could put the one that I had in that was FREE.
