If it only squeals while moving and NOT dependent on engine speed, then it's probably not the alternator.

I'd check the front brakes, may have a stone caught between the rotor and caliper, bent dust shield, or worn brake pads.

i had the front tires off to check the brakes today as it goes for inspection friday .didnt see anything out the norm . there was some lateral play when pulling the wheel from a 3 and 9 oclock position but thats something totally different going on .

it didnt start until this recent cold snap here in the northeast . it was intermittent at first then started doing it more and more .

been researching and the consensus says hub bearings but we will see .

for now i will revert to my ol standby "i will know what it is when it breaks"

Does it do it all the time or only occasionally? I have a similar noise that only pops up now and then, and usually will go away after coming to a stop. It’s a really funny noise because it warbles a bit and is pitch consistent with speed. Sounds almost like holding a leaf or something up to a spinning bike tire.
Have noticed a similar sound, or maybe more similar to your sound or the one in that video, from at least one other passing WJ

Figures. Just did the rears on a Compass and before they were replaced it sounded like a weedeater was running in the trunk. Cold and freezing seems to bring out the squeaks.
