I think this line from the add says it all...

"this rig is ready to roll and take you where ever you want to go."

Conversation?

Wife: Get rid of that F*#*&$ SUV! It gets more attention that I do!
Husban: But honey I've put so much money into it, can I at least get back most of what I have in it?
Wife: Well, ok, but I want it gone.
Husban: I'll put a "to move" price on it. I mean you don't want to lose money on it, right?
Wife: Well... I supposed not. You know that makes sense, don't just give it away. Make someone pay you what it's worth.

Huban "{whew, that was close} Yes dear, I'll put it up on Craigslist right now!"

OMFG!!!
Over $21K invested and he slaps a K&N air filter on it!!

Definately a show rig.

Rocksliders welded to frame??
Drop pitman arm?
Surprised he didn't add the 4 Skyjacker steering stabilizers. Every show rig needs these to cement the "OFF-ROAD" look.

I'd take that $18k and go get my head checked.

Not defending the guy, but why exactly is this wrong?

I'm not buying this list of "upgrades". Some stuff just doesn't seem to make sense.

First thing that caught my eye was that the LCA's look like their on too steep of an angle for them to be long arms. Furthermore, how is he using a TJ cross member skid plate if the RE Long Arm kit comes with its own belly pan? Something makes me think he doesn't have the LA kit unless there was some major fabbing going on.

And that rear bumper/tire carrier is a little overboard. That spare is pretty high, and could've definately be built to sit much lower, even though it'd probably affect departure angle.... which I don't think this guy took into consideration anyway.

And his price?! I could build two nice XJ's with that much money!

Before I spent $18k on someone else's mess, I'd go buy my own parts and build my own XJ. If I didn't have an XJ I'd get one then build it.

Can you imagine just going out and getting everything you ever wanted for your XJ and the bolting it on?

It took me a year (or more) before I could get my rear bumper with tire carrier.

For $18k I'd have a new motor, transmission, and all the parts I ever wanted for my XJ.
