Just as a test I removed my vacuum canister and plugged it with a bolt, and so far I have not noticed a change in anything.

I don't have Cruise Control or a vacuum disconnect and my heater works fine. My heater will still switch from hot to cold and my air will change to my vents, defrost and floor.

Untill I notice that something does not work right I am going to leave it out.:dontknow:

I did it because I want to make some more room under my hood. Next to go is the ABS pump.

The only place you might need that bomb is going up something like I80. It would be handy then

yeah, when you put the engine under a heavy load, like passing (uh huh) or all throttle run up hill it may switch your heat to vents or a/c or off

Yeah I think I will be okay without it, I dont drive too far as it is and when I do I usually turn my heater down even when its cold out.

most jeepers should move their vac-can up into the engine compartment, they usually are alot safer up there, especially once you start cutting out chunks of fenders and inner fender-wells for bigger tires, or if you just like to bump into stuff with your bumper, if i remember correctly, doesnt that little bottle keep you in 4wd?? plus if your like me, you can use those same spots behind the bumper as a perfect "hidden" (depending on how cut up your front is) mounting spot for a couple of PA horns :D

I believe it does on a 91 and older with the vacuum disco, but I dont have a vacuum disco I have a 231 and its all manually shifted into 4WD.

Already been wheelin twice and both times the 4WD was working great! I would not have been able to drive in 3-4 feet of snow if not.:D

the bolt is doin the same thing the ball did but in a really small package. its jst keepin the vaccum in the system stable. not many cars use it and if you ever take out ur climate control, all the colored lines run to a vacuum manifold to control the vents and what not. if jrw hasnt had a problem since he took it out, then he is good. unless you take out the one from your booster there r no problems as i can see. ive driven mine wit it dissconnected and all i had loss of was control of the vents. everything else worked fine.
