so does any one know what is up with the intermitency of the power windows. I read online this is a common issue with cherokees but no way to fix it. It seems like an electrical problem. any thoughts?
from what i understand they are still operatable from the driver controls the buttons or wiring to the buttons for the other windows go out, the same goes for the speakers in the doors i think there is just a problem with the wiring going through the doors on Cherokees
My power windows only work from the drivers door control also, and only one of the back speakers work in my Jeep, I was considering getting a new speaker system, because I figured the speakers had just blown. Now I'm not so sure a speaker system would solve the problem, if it's wiring going into the door. How would I check whether it's the wiring, or the speaker itself?
so this window problem came back. I heard you need to bypass the window lock button. has anyone done this or have some pointers before I tear my doors apart.
I had this problem before an fixed it. I wish I had known about this fix 12 yrs ago when my 1993 XJ's windows stopped working on the passenger sides.
Here is a link : 97+ Power Window Fix w/ pics. if that doesn't work, go to jeepforum.com and search their threads - power window fix
I should mention that this fix worked on my wife's 1993 XJ, and it is still working today.
