I have a 98 Cherokee with keyless entry. The locking part works but the unlocking is not. I checked the circuit board in the overhead light and I can hear the “clicking” but nothing beyond that is happening. Is the board done or is there something else I’m missing. Thanks I’m advanced.

Your locks might just be sticky. Try spraying some penetrating oil into them to help loosen them up

I have a theory.
When you try to lock them and they won't do you hear a click coming from the passenger side front door?
That control controls the locks.
There are 2 relays in there.
I always wondered if one was for locking and one was for unlocking.
My locks in my '00 would work about 98% of the time. When they didn't I would hear the click I asked about.
Threw in another used control and all has been fine since.
Some guys resolder the driver's control to fix the window lock problem. Google it.
Maybe doing the same to the passenger one would fix that one.

They work fine with the door locks. The issue is only with the keyless entry. But I do not here a clicking at the passenger door when using the key fob, Only at the circuit board that is located in the over head light.
