Rofl Craig doesn't it crack you up how animals can get so close to the fireplace without burning themselves? My other dog (who has since passed away ) used to sleep with her nose practically inside the fireplace and would be perfectly happy. Animals have a good sense of their boundaries I guess.

I LOVE beagles! Reminds me of my first dog, Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. I got him when I was 3 and he was my best buddy for 10 years.
