Hello all! I'm new to the this, but I've recently took on the project of refreshing my 315,000 mile, dependable Jeep.

This Jeep is an old friend, my mom bought her new, dad named her, and I stole her lol. This has been a fantastic machine. All factory motor, and tranny.

This whole refresh started after a slow leak that became annoying. Well actually, it all started as a caliper job, but I started looking around, why not? W

The installation went somewhat smooth, when you get the last 20 years of oil off, lol. I had two gaskets for the oil pump, opted for the felpro. Also, I've saw write-ups suggesting rtv for the RMS, no! I went with the anaombic sealant, worth it, and soaked the gasket itself with new oil as long as you can. No leaks total success!

Pick-up tube.. Yeah we don't talk about it, lol. All jokes aside it was the most physically exerting thing about the job. Especially, when your a quarter of the way in, and you realize "hey, I shoulda lubed this thing a bit." That's what she said lmao
Finally got my front axle treated and painted with por15, ( which takes like 3 days to come off, or rub off rather) shocks on, track bar on. Which that was a real task. After I got a jack under the axle she began manipulating it, finally it cooperated.
Before por15, and the factory track bar beside the moog replacement, that came with no paint

Now back to the brakes.. which I have already replaced the hard lines, and rubber hoses all to the front. On to these calipers tomorrow
The weather however is getting cold on me. It's just down to the rear shocks and shackle replacement and I will be satisfied for a bit.
Yes, I did. Jacked it up, and took it all loose.
Another delight in my life, broke a upper shock bolt in the rear. The good news is the fix is in the mail. Took a try on the upper shackle bolt, boy it is tight, I haven't even got it to turn. And lve been periodically spraying this crap with on. I'm really not trying to cut and all that stuff.
Sure did, now I'm kicking around the idea of bar pin eliminators, I dunno still thinking
Thanks guys, that's what I'm doing. Actually already have the new shocks. Last night, I beat the old washers out with a screwdriver and a BFH. A little aggravating, thankfully, I'm a patient woman.
Last night when I was beating out the shock nuts. I was looking at my frame rail, to notice a small crack on the unibody right above the rear wheel. To my horror when I pushed it my finger went thru. Well this angered me, every bit of the frame is in excellent shape. Was coated at the factory. I got my screwdriver and Hammer, and just started chipping. I could not fathom what has done this, and then I began looking, the hatch floorboard has rotted. Water has kicked up, soaked in, and somehow been draining into the rear frame rail channel. Ugh

You bet. I'm thankful it's just there, and a straight price. I think it's totally doable.
