Just an update, I’m still wheeling the Jeep! I moved from Texas to Indiana last February. The Jeep has been awesome. I’ve only done routine maintenance on it for the past 2 years basically. I do believe I am going to do some work on the rear suspension and fenders though. I really need a few more inches of up travel.

Hey Craig, I can't remember if those are 40s or 42s

Swampers tend to run a little small, as do most tires. Just curious. I am headed for larger tires myself

Interesting comment Craig. Tell me more. Are there certain conditions they are not good for? I confess that I am going initially with 39.5 Iroks, but will have a second set of sipped Toyos for most purposes.

Wow, I've never heard anyone say a bad word about Pitbulls before. I think they do better than some swampers from what I've seen on my buddies' rigs.

On the road they are awesome, on the rocks they work good enough, in the mud they do well also, but in the wet/muddy rocks they leave some to be desired. For what they cost when I got them they are awesome thought. $1500 for a set of new 42s is as good as its going to get. I have been wheeling them for 3 years and don’t regret buying them though.

Thanks for the comment Craig. One more question. I don't remember if you got the radial or bias ply

Thanks Craig. Always interested in honest reviews. When I get this done, it would be nice to get together and do some testing on some challenging trails

I would have to agree with Craig. They lack in the wet rocks. I have also taken them to Moab and feel like they don’t grip as well either. I had a lot of wheel spin when I was there. My buddies cooper tires did way better then mine did.

I try not to beat them up to bad because the price we paid for them. Also, my Jeep has a terrible rear suspension setup and that isn’t helping anything.

Because of how little lift I have and the tire size, my limited up travel makes it ride bad. Also, it hitting the bump stops hard on rough hill climbs or even just rough road causes it to bounce pretty bad. It works but could be better. I plan on addressing the rear setup over the next month or so. I’m not going linked rear suspension. The cost to benefits don’t make since to me. The Jeep is 90% good and it isn’t worth the money to me. I’d like it to ride a little better and that’s about it.
