Overhead console question

A friend of mine is sending his old 2wd ZJ to the crusher this weekend and has told me that I can have any parts off of it that I want. The thing that interests me the most is the overhead console that he has, the rest of the ZJ is pretty rough but the console is in good shape.

I have scoured the interwebs and found a write up on NAXJA, but it confused me more than helped.

My question is this, can I mount the console into my 99 XJ with some functionality of the lights? And if so, how? I'm not worried about the trip computer garbage, because if I wanted to be worried about my mileage and such I wouldn't have bought a Jeep and would have bought a rolling tampon....er.... I mean prius. I have to recover the headliner anyway as it's starting to sag, perfect time to upgrade a little. New headliner material and some sound deadening to the roof above is in my plans.
