The part number is not important unless you are buying a short block. Is that what you want to do? Dedi no one is going to be able to give you that info without knowing your vin.

I Ma new, I cannot find the "New Thread" button. This post relates to cast enegine numbers. I cannot find my 2000 4.0 Cherokee Sports serial number to show the licensing people. Where is trhis found please?
The engine cast # is found on the side of the block but not really visible without pulling the engine. The serial # is found on the lower left side of the dash (windshield) to the left of the steering wheel.
Thanks folks, it seems these engine serial numbers are found everywhere. I finally found it on my 2000 Cherokee Sport, Australian spec. It is located to the left of the distributor on a machined flat just underneath the cylinder head. Thanks for your responses.
