I was out unthawing the 98 from our ongoing ice storm.

I got the windows cleared, started it, released the parking brake and moved it onto the driveway, setting the parking brake.

Shortly after, I went out to drive it, thumbed the parking brake release and the button flew off.

Now, I can't release the parking brake, and I can't find any info on how this parking brake fits together.

Pushing on the release shaft has zero effect. How can I get the parking brake released?
How can I repair the brake handle? Does it connect under the console storage?

Sounds like you will have to take the console off and take the lever off, or disassemble it where it attaches
