And this time it's NOT the '98!!!

So on my '92, I have brake lights when the lights are off.
When I turn on the main lights, I have no tail lights and no brake lights at all.

I'm digging thru my FSM, and I have yet to find/isolate/get an idea about the problem... I was kinda thinking brake light switch, but anyone got and decent ideas or experiences?

When I have light issues, I always check my wires and grounds first, then fusebox, then start replacing switches.

Check the little "box" that the arm of the brake pedal touches which activates the brakelights. If you look at the brake pedal and follow it up to where it gets hidden behind the dash you'll see a box that touches it, there is a pin in the box that when depressed activates the brakelights. Mine went bad and gave me similar syptoms a couple years ago. It's a cheap part, and easy to swap... like others have said - it's best to start with the cheap and easy than to start with the difficult and expensive.
