We had our first annual Jeep Club Barbecue and food bank drive this weekend. It was well attended and a large amount of food and some cash was collected for our local food bank.

As can be expected at a large party full of Jeepers, there was some wheeling to be done in the back 40. The guy who hosted it had some old farmland off the back of his property with some paths and bogs and what not.

Of course there was the required recovery too :D The fellow in the YJ zigged when he should have zagged - literally, and he ended up nose down in an irrigation ditch. It stunk like you can't believe!

After some creative digging and winching we managed to drag him out after a couple of hours of failed attempts. At least one winch packed it in, and a FSJ owner bent the rear cross-member of his J20 pretty bad. The cops even showed up lol. The property is adjacent to a highway, so a couple of cop cars showed up to see what the commotion was.

As for the YJ, he dried it all out, drained the oil, all the ditch water and snails from his engine, and basically fired it right up. He drove it halfway home and it packed it in again. Could still be a wet snail in the ignition somewhere :D

Enjoy ...

Some cross member damage on the J20 ... he attempted to yank the YJ from his own cross member ...

Yeah no kidding

Crappy part is the owner had it for sale and brought it to the barbecue hoping to drum up some interest in it. It's huge! I think he has about 8 or 9 inches of lift on 36s or something like that.

I'll give him $100 if he is willing to deliver it at least to San Antonio.
