As the title says, the regulator works on the left passenger door but window doesn't move.

Has this happened to anyone before, and if so, is the problem with the window attachment to the regulator and can it be reattached, or do I need to replace the regulator?

I will be taking the door panel off, so just looking for any input on the subject.

I would say the drive mechanism in the regulator is stripped. Sometimes you can get parts for that from Rock Auto. Did it on my Crown Victoria for both back windows. But you will have to confirm when you get it apart

Yeah, I can't be sure if anything is moving in there, but I definitely hear the motor. Is it possible that the part that holds the window in place has just let loose? I guess I'll know more when I open it up.

Thanks.

If the piece that bolts to the winfow was off the window would fall into the door. If it was just loose then it would still go up and down.

Most likely the cable (kind of a furry wire rope looking piece) is broken or the worm gear is stripped out.

Looks like rock auto carries fronts assemblies only for about 80 dollars. They're under the interior tab.

Another option is salvage yard parts.

The friction of the window slides is enough to keep it where you put it, but will slide down from vibration. That's why I've got it taped shut.

There is definitely some kind of disconnect happening here.

Thanks!

You could just have a missing bolt in that case. Yank the door card and see what you see.
