Use sandpaper or a dremel tool and "ruff" up the glass surface. You might want to do the same to the little metal tab that the mirror attaches to.

If it is falling off due to heat (parking it outside in the sun) you may want to find some sticky aluminin foil and cut it to fit the shape of the mirror metal tab and then stick it to the outside of the windsheild to "sheild" the glue between the wind sheild and the metal tab.

Just thoughts. I haven't done any of these things. Mine fell off once. I glued it and it has been fine since.

Are you missing the metal piece that slides into the base of the mirror? Just thought to ask because plastic will not hold on the glass. My Cherokee mirror fell off this past Summer, and I used contact cleaner to remove the old residue and then used a HIGH quality CA (Super Glue). The only other alternative I can see is to have the wife hold the mirror up as you drive!
