ok on Nov 19 I showed the XJ to a guy, he offered me 2,200 and I was asking for at least 2,500 for it, so I said no, then well my uncle convinced me to sell it to this guys for the 2,200 he said, bc I should not fight for 300, so I called him today, and asked him if he was still interested, and he said that he will call me later, so now he calls me offering me 1900 for the xj, I said NO I already lower it to you to 2200 from the original asking price of 3000, and he said, I know you need to get rid of it so I will give you 2000 and pick it up tomorrow, and I said, well dont come, bc Im in no hurry to sell it, and I dont want to do business with a guys like you,,,, also he was really inyourface kinda guy, and really rub me the wrong way... :thumbdown:

Alot of people do that when purchasing vehicles. They try to talk you down once, and if you fall for it, they go for round 2. Hold your ground and sell it for what you want for it.

I agree^^ It is your choice who you sell it to and for how much. Don't let ANYBODY take control of the situation besides you. Just hold your ground and just say "then no deal", there will always be others. It may just take a little longer but you will get what you want.

yeah I dont have probs staying with the XJ for a while, my dad just said it that before selling it to that guy he rather have the XJ parked upfront for a whole year..

Yeah, just forget him. It's good that you aren't letting him get away with that kind of behavior. Too many people think that all they have to do is act like a jerk and people will do whatever they want. Good for you, Belto.

My advice is that if somebody offers you something within reason take it, especially in these times its going to be hard to sell a vehicle. But 1900 sounds a bit low.

I might be selling mine and I will not go below 3500. Not sure yet though. Im thinking on getting a small car, then buy a ZJ I6 or a XJ. Dont know yet.
