"Spy Camera" between my sun visors?

What... is "Big Brother" watching? Are they ever-in for an education!!! Really, i've been staring back at it for some time now. What is it? What IS it!!! i went so far as to remove it to see who was in there. Nobody in there, Man! They took the camera with them when they left. i KNOW that they're coming back! All they left behind was an empty, tinted, pop-out... bubble thing, some wire and a printed circuit board that doesn't seem to do anything at ALL! WHAT'S IT DOO!!! What kind of conspiracy is this? i am totally freakin' out, Man! i try so hard to ignore them when i look into the rear view mirror. i know that they are watching. Everyone i've talked to about this doesn't even seem to care!

Really do need to stop smoking that "shit", huh?

That is the receiver for keyless entry. They are not known to be very good, apparently you have to be almost right on top of the XJ to get it to work.

Also... these questions should be in the Cherokee tech area.

Now that i know what it is, i searched some other treads for more info on this. It's refreshing to know that i wasn't the only one to notice this... "thing" up there! Yeah, "they" say that these IR's never really worked so well anyway, so i'm not at all that sad that mine doesn't work either. i'm just VERY happy that the Guys at Jeep who designed these, ended up giving us something kinda funny to talk about. Ironic, huh?

Well, if anyone dares to crawl into my rig, sit down, look up and ask... i still may tell them about my "people". This totally depends on how i feel at the time...

I have a cousin that has been in & out of jail (In Now!) and he was in My XJ once and saw that thing and made me drop him off cause he was sure it was a camera!?!?!?HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thats an understatement....I can point mine directly at the sensor only a couple inches away from the window and it works about 50 percent of the time.

I thought at first it was my battery in the remote, after I replaced it I realized it wasn't. I took mine off my key ring. It's unnecessary and frustrating when it doesn't work.

hm, ive always wondered what the hell that thing was. i always thought it was for the compass. but i guess not.
your xjs have keyless entry? mine sure as shit does not....?
