Trying to keep mostly stock in appearance while still making a capable vehicle. My days of sawsalling Jeeps are behind me and I want something that will be reliable and last me for years to come

Downsy that is one CLASSIC looking XJ. Nice.
I hope that one stays stock like that for the rest of its life and remains unmolested.

DOWNSY the addition of the Rock Sliders to your Daily Driver gives me hope to adding that mod to my Ride. Nice touch.

It was 90 dollars of material and some time. To me rails are a necessity on a Jeep that will see dirt.

My ride will probably not see much dirt, camping maybe, but I was debating between Rails or Nerf Bars. The poor excuse I have for them is I need something I can step on to get to my Yakima LoadWarrior.

I used 2x3 square tubing and they're bumped out just enough you can use them as a step if needed. My last Jeep had some from Nates 4x4 with the tube kickouts on them that not only help protect your doors giving you some stand off from obstacles but also worked pretty good as a step. The boogieman's way works pretty good too  I use that rear tire as a step a lot and it gets you pretty high up.

2004 Grand Cherokee Overland Edition.

ENGINE - 4.7HO
TRANSMISSION - 45RFE
TRANSFER CASE - 247
FRONT AXLE - DANA 30 W/VARI-LOC
REAR AXLE -DANA 44A W/VARI-LOC
GEAR RATIO -3.73
EXHAUST - 3" FLOW MASTER SUPER 40 CAT BACK.
I call her the Meat Wagon . Bought her used for 2700$ with 119,000 MI . She has heated front seats with up to two driver memory . Dual zone climate control . Adjustable pedals . Infinity factory sound system. Outside she sports the Overland rock rails and full factory skid package. It's definitely not pretty on the outside but the interior is in great shape (less the deer blood and hay). Dispite looking like Helen Keller's first car , the Overland tows nice with a 6500lb rating.it suits my needs and gets me to my hunting ,fishing and camping spots.
FUTURE MODS.....
4" Iron rock lift
32or33" mud terrain tires
7" Jensen touchscreen head unit

CB
ALTERNATIVE INTERIOR LIGHTING
ROOF RACK
LED LIGHT BARS FOR AUX LIGHTING
3" LED PODS TO REPLACE OEM FOG LIGHTS
