The neighbor just hit my WJ, what to do?

So Im pulling the XJ into the garage and notice the neighbor pulling up to the curb with her boyfriend. He proceeds to back into my car. I dont have the battery hooked up so the alarm didnt go off. I wasnt quite sure he did at first. I took our baby in and laid her down for bed. Grabbed the flashlight and went out to look.

Sure as hell. He backed his bumper cover right up under mine. Scraped his up pretty badly when he pulled forward since I have the front license plate holder on it. I dont see any immediate damage to mine.

Should I call the police and have them come out just on principle? I dont have plates or insurance on mine and it was parked on a public street. Im not sure if it would create more hassle for me or not.

Do I let it slide or call it in?

Cops showed up, no report filed since there is no damage. Owner claimed he didnt know yet I watched him get out and inspect the car. Bleh, whatever. Im protected I guess.
Ya probably better off for your safety that you called the cops, glad you got it sorted out.
well hope you get something,, out of it... for some new parts,, if not,, well that means there wasnt any mayor damage,, so good for you
Not going to get anything, didnt want anything. Just wanted to cover my ass.
ok then, good for you that there was no damage done.

Well glad you jeep is alright:cheers:
The transmission is out of it so it really wouldnt have mattered if it was smashed.

Well when are you going to get around to fixing that ;)
Well, thats a whole different story. blah.

I pulled it into the garage and put it up on stands in prep for dropping the trans and attempting to rebuild it myself. The day after I did that, the XJ trans started slipping.

I bought another AW4 and its been sitting in the garage for a week. I might put it in this coming week or maybe next week. Sometime soon before it gets cold, thats for sure.

Then Ill pull the WJ back in and drop the trans and start trying to tear it down and order parts for it. It will be a slow rebuild since I have never done one before.

I wish I could afford to just buy another one. Once the WJ is back on the road Im allowed to beat the XJ up as much as I want!
Well let us know if you need any help.
