Hey thanks for the video. If I ever have to rip my dash apart I might do that. Only then though because I am fine with the dash lights as they are. Did install the onewaylight passenger compartment LED's. Very happy with that and Jason there is very easy to work with. Do have one question that maybe you can answer. I put factory fogs in my '00 that did not come with them. Looks factory up front and in the passenger compartment. In the engine compartment not so. I just wired them up. When I pulled the factory fog light bezel from a boneyard Jeep my intentions were to replace my rear wiper switch, rear defogger switch, cigarette lighter, and power plug with mine. I knew mine worked. Thing was for the life me I could not figure out how to get the cigarette lighter and power plug out with out destroying them. The internet was no help. Do you know how to do it? By the way I have a Camel interior too. Don't see many of them.

looks like the right side has a rubbery band around it that may release it if removed. The left side doesn't have anything but seems very fixed in the bezel....hmmm
Pretty sure the green one is the power plug and that rubber band is for the plug to cap it. Like I said I could not figure it out. Played with one, got it out, but kinda destroyed it in the process. Not real bad and still might work but you would think it would not be that big a deal. It is not like I need to know. But I would like too. I guess if you need to replace it cause it is bad then you don't care how it comes out as long as it come out.
I admire you guys who do your own headliners. I toyed with doing it in my '00. Thing was I would buy the fabric, couple cans of good 3M glue, do all the work, do a crappy job, and would spent what about $60 trying. We have a guy in my town. Go to guy for all the classic car upholstery needs. He is a customer of the auto parts store I work at. $125 with me bringing him the headliner. I just figured it was better this way.
I've got 60 in just the material. Then add spray adhesive, labor, the brush I'm using, and the fatmat sound deadener I'm installing, and it multiplies
Which fatmat are you using? I am putting a overhead console in my '00 come spring. Also some removable leather headrest buckets. Was considering using some sort of fatmat/dynamat/etc stuff. One of those while I am here things though I really do not care. Many options and pricey though. Not even sure if I should waste my time and money. Also had this dumb idea. Familiar with the ensolite sleeping pads? The ones you use backpacking. Was thinking of trying that. Any thoughts?
YEAH BABY!!!! Got the Cruise Control in. Air bag did not go off, air bag light is not on, and the horn works. Went for a spin around the neighborhood. All the features appear to work. Will know better when I get her on the highway. I literally live 1 minute from the cop shop. Got her up to speed to check the cruise but did not want to push my luck.

Veddy Nice!

That is the one thing I wish mine had!
Cruise should work at 40-45

It is pretty easy with the parts. This one is from a '99 and it was plug and play on my '00. Switches need to be '97 or '98 for those years and '99 and up for '99 to '01. Pretty sure everything else does not matter. The proper removal of the clockspring is something I was not aware about but realized my mistake before the install. Wheels straight ahead when removing and zip tie the rotating part with the body through the hole that is there so it does not spin on you. Fortunately for me I have a '01 Service Manual, free score off Craigslist, and they explain the procedure to recenter a clock spring. Turn clockwise till you feel resistance, then turn counter clockwise 2 and 1/2 turns. If a 1/2 more is necessary to line up that hole I was talking about above that is OK.

I was doing 50 mph past the cop shop to engage the cruise. It is a more used side street but a side street none the same. Speed Limit is 25 MPH.

Stopped by to see my upholstery guy. Made a date to drop off the overhead console headliner, overhead console, and the visors to get recovered. July 10th. He is super busy. Worth the wait plus I am in no hurry. Did a nice job on my dome light headliner. Tomorrow going to Line-X to see about getting my factory running boards done. Was going to have my body guy paint them but with all the recent activity with guys painting their Jeeps with Monstaliner got me thinking. Mentioned that to a customer of the auto parts store I work at and he suggested talking to them. They did his work truck. He can't say enough nice things about the job they did. Also bringing my door molding down to see what they say about that. Was just going to Krylon Fusion them, if I even decided to put them back on (not sure yet), but thinking having door molding Monstalined or Line-Xed would be kinda cool.

So the Cruise Control that I installed last week started screwing up after 4 days. First the air bag light would come and go. Cruise would only light up when the air bag light was not on. The horn seemed to work all the time. Then it got to the point that the air bag light would stay on, Cruise would not light up, and no horn. Learned how to check continuity of a clock spring, really suck when it comes to electrical, and it appeared the boneyard one was bad. Fortunately I have 2 other cruise units. One of those was bad but the other was good. Installed and for the moment all is good. If this one screws up then I am just going to buy a new one.
So I figured I would start on my front seats. Just the passenger today. Does not require quite the rehabing that the driver's does. So separated the seat. Cleaned up the back and put on the Coverking Rhinohide seat cover. Gotta tell ya. Not disappointed. Think it will even fit a bit better after some time. Cleaned the bottom good and POR 15'ed the bracket. Now just waiting for it to dry so I can put this all back together and call it a day.

Done. Not a bad fit at all. I am OK with it.

Was lucky enough to find a dome light with the receiver and one key fob in the boneyard. Just tested it to see if it works and it does. This will be the one I use instead of mine for when I replace my dome light with an overhead console. Commitment issues.
Off next week so today is the first day of "Project Jeep Week". Of course it is going to be the lousiest week possible as far as rain goes. Got the driver's door panel and vapor barrier off. Managed to get the new door check in. Wire trick from the guy who did the write up I read was a good idea. He said he used pliers to get the pin in. I found using my next to smallest pry bar, sticking the pin in as far as it would go, lining everything up, and hitting the pry bar with a hammer got it in on the first shot. Door opens and closes nice now. Started scoping out how I am going to deal with the Dynamat. Cleaned up everything and started to make my first cut and it started sprinkling. On a rain delay at the moment. Going to be a rough week.

So after the rain delay yesterday I was able to go forward. Between yesterday and today got the Dynamat on with some closed cell foam and the Infinity Tweeters in. Just the front doors though.

Probably added 20lbs to the Jeep doors lol. I have some leftover from the ceiling, but Im not sure I have the patience to do the doors.
Don't think it is that much. Don't have a scale. Tried to compare 1 sheet of the Dynamat to a 1/2 gallon of water in the fridge. Dynamat feels lighter. Figure the 1/2 gallon weighs about 4lbs. Used about 1 and 2/3 sheets for both doors. Thinking 10lbs between both doors? It is the Infinity Tweeters that really add to the weight. LOL. Doing the doors was not that bad. I really don't care about the noise in the Jeep. More a turn up the radio kinda guy. But since I have to go into places to do stuff, drivers side door check and the tweeters, it is more a while I am here thing. Plus once I figured out how I was going to handle the first door it made doing the second much quicker. I have to remove my back hatch panel to track down a leak, so while I am there, putting in an overhead console, so while I am there, installing some leather removable headrest seats (drivers is power so I have to run the wire), so while I am there. You get the idea.

Yup, I know the feeling. Sorry, the weight comment was more of a joke than serious. But that sound deadener does add up. I know i was surprised at how much it weighed when I got my box of it in the mail.
I knew it was meant more as a joke but you got me thinking about it. So figured I would see if I could determine about how much. And yeah that box with 9 sheets in it was compact but had some weight to it. Curious. You did your roof? How did you handle it? I am not doing the whole roof with the Dynamat. Try for 25% coverage. At least that is the plan at present. Was thinking of biting the bullet and purchasing enough Dynaliner, 11101, to cover completely though. And this will be when I install the overhead console I bought.
Yeah I did my whole ceiling. Solid. I used fatmat though, it's cheaper than dynamat.
I noticed. Wondering if I should have used the fatmat instead.
So I think this is how it works.

Hi my name is Ralph and I am an addict. LOL

So that compressor I have been eyeballing has been on sale for $380

https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...belt-drive-air-compressor-30-gal?cm_vc=-10005

They sent me a 15% off Friends and Family coupon. I went to check it out. So to bottom line it. They took the 15% off the $380 and then another $50 off on top of that. $290.32 out the door. I couldn't help myself. I think I have a problem. LOL.

Yesterday I also ordered the door check, bracket, and pin for the passenger side. Until I fixed my driver's door which was real bad I never realized I smoothly they should close. Passenger side is no where near as bad, thought is was fine actually, but now I know better. It would eat at me if I did not fix it. See the second sentence. Also ordered 2 more of the top hat diff breathers. I have already run my rear diff breather into the engine compartment and want to do the same with the tranny and TC ones.

I think you forgot the tax. $379.99X.85=$322.99-$50=$272.99X1.0635 (TAX)=$290.32.

Thank you though. Any suggestions on air tools?
Oh ya, tax! We dont have that :)
As for tools, I'd base that on what you do. As an example, I do alot of metal cutting so a cut-off tool and a dye grinder were first on my list.
I want to live where you live. No tax. Thinking my first purchase would be an impact. Thinking one of those kits, like from Sears, would be a waste. Same with the Home Depot or Lowes ones. No idea of what kind of ft pounds I should be on the look out for and what would work good with the compressor. Thinking it is not a bad compressor but it still is only capable of so much. Also would like an air hammer/chisel, I believe they are the same thing, but the compressor says it will only handle intermittent use. Same with a die grinder. But that is OK. More interested in makes and models that you guys own that you like.
Impact gun, 90deg die grinder with roloc disc attachment, pneumatic reciprocating saw. Those are my favorites. Ingersoll, snapon, blueprint, and a harbor freight die grinder
Dropped my window rack at Napa yesterday to be blasted. Shiuld be waaaay quicker than me trying to grind it all down to clean it for paint.
Reciprocating saw. Yeah one of those too. Your Napa sandblasts? I work at one. We don't.
