I use Wal-Mart specials, but I wouldn't reccomend them cause they only get it high enough to change the tire. I Plan on getting something else in the future.
if you have 6 or8" of lift dont remember what you said ont the other thread.. and its bearly enough for changing the tires, well for a 4.5 lift will be ok,, dont you think?

I have an 8" lift, but then again I probably have the smallest jack stands Wal-Mart carries. I have to stack things to put the jack stands on if I want to max out the suspension :p But they should work fine for a 4.5" lift.

I've got a collection of 2T, 3T, and 6Ts. The 6Ts ain't tall enough, and despite having 6 of them I still never have enough. So, I'm going to buy 4 12Ts in the near future... The 2s and 3s are good for putting under an axle, or for changing the oil on some pretty girl's car, and that's it.

Another thing that works (if you're cheap and already have 'smaller' stands) is to go and get some scrap 2x12 from a construction site (often cut ends are avaliable, and nobody minds you taking them), and buck it into 12" lengths, then screw/nail them together to make pads for under the jack stands. It's actually safe, and free. You can also stack 2x4s like the boat guys do to make ultra-poorboy jackstands, but they aren't adjustable and take up lots of space.

I have my dad's 4-ton jackstands. He bought them from Kmart like, i dunno, maybe 15 years ago? I was in highschool then. They were still in perfect working condition until....my jeep flattened them. I was installing some shackles and used a bottle jack on the axle to raise it. I wasn't paying attention to how high was going and the jeep starting moving forward and then.....splat. It flattened the jack stands and landed on the axles. That was mostly my fault since it was the first time i ever forgot to block the front tires. First time and it happens...tsk tsk. I bought some new ones from wal-fart, 3-ton stands made from GM. They seem very solid and NOT MADE IN CHINA.

I've got two sets of 6-ton stands and two sets of 3-ton stands. The 3-ton ones are really only suitable for axle stands, as short as they are. Haven't needed anything taller than my 6-ton stands though, with 5-6" of lift and 35" tires.

Granted though, there are times when I extend them out pretty tall.
