I am really not sure if this would be the right place to start this (the mods can move it if nec.), but here we go. I am finally going to start on my camper. I have posted my concept drawing in other threads, but I will post it here too. I ordered these from E-trailer and will be getting all the stuff I'll need from them also as I go. I also bought a 2,800 lb. trailer axle w/e-brakes from someone on C.L. for $30 a while back. I should be able get started on it this weekend. I will try to take as many pics. as possible.

Yeah, I really don't want any roll with it while I am towing it (I won't have any sway bars on it), I have an equipment trailer that is basically set-up the same way (same size). It tows down the road with a decent load and tracks perfect, the camper won't have near the loads that work trailer hauls.

I can't wait to start fabricating this thing.

I don't want something like that I just want something simple as a base camp for over night-ers.
I am going to make it like one of those tear drop campers, with the whole chassis tubed to the back for a mattress and in the cargo area a kitchen above the feet. I am done with pitching a tent and sleeping on the ground. There will be very little to setting it up for camping. I even have a nice set of Yokahoma roof rack rails with canoe mounts.

I really wanted to do something like that with my 91 when it died but got an offer to sell it whole and the wife wasn't crazy about me having another project. Will be watching this with interest however.

Donor Trailer

So I want certain parts for my trailer That would probably cost quite a chunk of change. I was working next door to someone who was selling their old pop-up trailer (Make Offer) So I offered $75. So at the end of the month I'll pick it up. Dismantle it for as much parts as I can use.

Nice job! That should give you the cushions for the bed and possibly a sink/stove to use.

Yeah, you never know what treasures will come out of it, but I do know it has a heater (which I will pob. never have to use), Battery, propane tray and lots of metal and much more I hope. I do have a nice full size camper mattress already from my daughters 30' trailer.

Pop-up trailer.

Went ahead and got the trailer today (I did not want to wait until the end of the month). I can't wait to see what I can use. The metal from the frame alone will be worth the $75 I gave for it. The owner found the propane stove for it. My wife just rolled her eyes, but she realizes it is money well spent.

The red one is very close to what I would like mine to be like. I do want mine a tad shorter. I am sorry I have not got much done yet, work has had me hopping, I mow lawns for a living and with all the rain it's kick my a**. Hope to have time to get some thing done this weekend. I'll take some pics of my find. There will be lots of framing material along with anything I would like to incorporate in this build. I don't think the marine battery that came with the trailer is any good but I am slow charging it just to see what it does have left???
