Another suggestion, brace it to the other side. On my list
I have already braced the steering box (pinion) from the other side, to help with all the stress put on the frame. I've already had the imfoumaus steering box frame failure on my rig. Hence the frame stiffiners and extra plating in the area of the failure. It's now solid. The list of things in store for my rig are pretty extensive. If you are like me, my projects are not limited to my rig. So it's pretty easy for the camper to go to the back burner.

I have been using my rig a lot to explore Colorado and also took a couple trips. We went to Bryce Canyon and to see my daughter and grand kids.

I have to admit that with all the crazy going on in our world I have been in a funk, It's been nice to climb out of that funk, and get some things done. I'm glad my wife is patient with me.

Who me? I only have four different vehicle projects going. And not enough shop space :D

Your setup looks good. Impressive work. I think your build could be use as a good reference for a camper build. I might follow this after I get my new set of wheels I acquired from 4WheelOnline.
Thanks for the kind words. Lately I have been working on my roof rack for my rig, I took a lot of pictures of my project but would like to post a thread of it from start to finish. Because of this project taking me to long I would rather not drag you guys along on another incomplete project.

Really would like to jump back into the camper, might get busy on it after the roof rack is finished.

Another pretty cool update on something related to the camper. One of my concerns has been what gearing would be best for my Xj to pull my trailer up the steep grades we have here in Colorado. I ran across some axles loaded with 4.10 gears at a price that I couldn't pass up. So after a couple weekends of wrenching on my rigs I have them installed. Been driving it for about a month now, and I can honestly say it is quite an improvement going from 3.55 gears to the 4.10 gears. But not as much of a difference as I expected. Like I said previously, I'm going to be building my axles for my rig soon. But now I have them out of my rig and can build them in my spare time. Going ahead with the 4.55 gears for my final set-up. Driving around on the 4.10 s confirmed that.

Anyways enough blabbing about stuff. Hope the next time I post on Cherokee Talk it worthy of your time to check it out?
Thanks David
