Hi my 97 cherokee has a bad AC clutch bearing. Well I pulled the pulley off then got the shims out. To my surprise half the bearing is ceased on to the compressor seal housing. I was working the half a bearing off the housing when the seal blew out. Will it be safe to put that seal back in? And how can I get that half a bearing off without damaging the housing? Also why would I be leaking coolant out of the transmission seal?

I would just get a compressor because u may never get that one to seal... Coolant can only get into the trans if your cooler in the radiator is busted and when coolant system builds pressure it pushes coolant into transmission

AC Clutch Removal

well, luckily it happened right in my driveway !!

The AC Clutch Pulley is not loose or wobbly, it is just
froze up like a bearing gave out and is mostly seized up.
Problem is - I can't figure out how to rig the puller.
very limited space for the harmonic puller. and what size bolts ?
Removing the radiator and fan seems to be the next step
but I just don't have the expertise, tools or time for it.
All the threads here say "just pull it off" Even YouTube
doesn't show much in the Jeep XJ category.
any quick fix help is greatly appreciated. This is my daily driver.
The ac worked really well up until this issue.
I guess I won't know if the whole compressor died until the clutch comes off ??
